About Us - Why we're Ab Fab!
Sew, why are we Ab Fab Textiles?
There are actually two meanings behind the term Ab Fab in our name:
- Absolutely Fabulous - The most well known meaning (great TV show too :) )
- Absorbent Fabric - Did you see that one coming? We did :)
We started out initially focusing strongly on absorbent fabrics having used Zorb in our own items, check out CandE Cosies. Although this is still a strong part of us, we stock much more including quality cottons, PUL, organics, KAM Snaps, threads and are expanding continuously.

Who are the Ab Fab Team
Want the long version or the short? Yeah thought so, long version it is! Only kidding, we'll go with the short version so you have more time to look at and buy our fabrics, maybe like our beautiful Organics.
Ab Fab Textiles was conceived by Dave and Elaine, keen to supply high quality fabrics designed to be used with reusable products such as cloth sanitary products, reusable nappies, incontinence products, pet bedding and more.
We are parents to 4 children with a 21yr age span, don't ask LOL We lead hectic lives but our business interests allow us to focus on work life balance, to enjoy time with the children and to engage in our passions. Ab Fab Textiles is an extension of us and our desire to provide quality fabrics/products at affordable prices and contribute a bit to making a difference.
As mentioned above, we have first hand knowledge of using many of these fabrics. Elaine also makes absorbent liners, among other items, to be used with small animal housing (these can be seen at CandE Cosies ). It was during a break from making these, joys of kids, that we decided to look at suppliers in the UK and Europe for fabrics such as Zorb. Amazingly there were very few, basically 1 in the UK to be honest (Hello Sarah and Ricky). Ab Fab Textiles was born, as a part time interest in 2015 and full time since 2020.
Why these Fabrics?
We were moved by, as many of you around the world were, by the stories told in the BBC program Blue Planet II. The brutal honesty regarding plastics and other waste discarded by humans and how it was affecting the wildlife around the world was shocking. It was heart wrenching how catastrophic an impact this was and is having ... not Absolutely Fabulous for sure!
We decided to focus on fabrics for reusable products and realised the increased popularity with reusable sanitary products, nappies and obviously already knew about the animal bedding. We have also helped many businesses startup with reusable sandwich wraps and food storage items.
We are keen to source organic fabrics and are continually looking for suppliers of these to expand our collections and offer our customers quality fabrics, ecologically friendly and at affordable prices.
